CO2 may get the headlines, but another atmospheric gas traps many times more heat—and may have a more dramatic effect on global warming if we can cut down on it. The bad news is there’s a lot of it: but the good news is, it may be easier to reduce.
Headline real estate can influence the public’s perception dramatically. For instance, carbon dioxide emissions—whilst critical to address—aren’t the only emissions we should be taking note of. Or indeed, are necessarily the easiest to reduce. This story considers methane: a naturally occurring gas that is also a bi-product of human activities such as farming and waste.
